This recipe is a comforting and simple dish that combines canned peas with a creamy, flavorful sauce enhanced by sautéed green onions and warm spices.

- 2 cans, ( 15 oz ) peas
- 1/2 cup, liquid drained from peas
- 6 green scallion onions, sliced
- 2 tablespoons, butter or margarine
- 2 tablespoon, flour
- 1/2 teaspoon, salt
- 1 teaspoon, sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon, pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon, nutmeg
Drain peas. Reserve 1/2 cup liquid. Saute' green scallions, in butter or margarine for 3 minutes. Stir flour, salt, sugar, pepper and nutmeg into cooked green scallions. Add liquid from peas. Cook, stirring until thickened. Add peas. Heat. Serves 4
